Welcome to Yuma
Territory Live Steamers

Early in 2008 the club ratified the By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation. We submitted an application for Non-Profit status. We received our 501(c)(3) status in September of 2008. In the summer of 2008 an item came up for sale for a train and track in Washington State. As luck would have it, one of our members was the 1st person to contact the seller. The club approved the purchase of the equipment and material and it was delivered to us. This purchase became the backbone to our railroad for the next year.

The track was converted to a portable set-up and was used for the 1st time at the Boy Scout Expo on Transportation in February of 2009 for a 1 day operation. We then installed the track at the Yuma County Fairgrounds for the week of the fair. In the autumn of 2009 we made arrangements with the Yuma Parks Dept. and installed our track at Riverside Park for 1 weekend of October, November, and December.

It was over the summer of 2009 that the President was in the northwest region of the country and heard of an individual who was moving and had to get rid of his rail in his yard. This material was donated to our club and was received in time for our November operation. We used several long pieces of the steel rail coming off of the Wye we received with this donation. We had two spurs for storing rolling stock or driving the speeder for an exibition of its usefulness.
